Touwig Stoeltje

An interaction, out of proportion as if you were looking at a cute elephant. His big, ungainly feet at his broad body and low back, so out of proportion that it
is touching.

A bulky chair made of rope. A broad research into the material brings nice surprises. Knotting is hardly possible with this, but shaping with a sewing machine, the will of the rope cannot compete. With an investigation into the basket industry, the way baskets are made and how the edges of a basket are pulled up. The ways in which you can make many shapes. Oval, round and cylinders form a basis for the sitting object. All shapes are incorporated in this chair.

The material creates a limit. Until here and no further. The shapes all have their own limit. The point where the rope can no longer be steered. It's going to be rude. Right where the whole chair turns. The clumsy appearance works together with the properties of the rope.

4 different colors, three cute colors. The colors work together. They cancel out the natural color of the rope. The green is bright against the burlap. The pink color is a complementary color to the green. They are colors that reinforce each other when they are together.

This seating object has a combination of proportions, color and use of materials. A
bulky chair with big feet. A rope chair.
